On 16 December 2023 took place the didactic workshop “Teaching materials, methodological resources and good practices in dealing with the phenomenon of propaganda in the 20th century.”
The workshop was organized in Chisinau, at the Summit Events & Conference Center, Blue Hall
The activity aimed to contribute to the professional training of history teachers through debates and constructive dialogue on topics of national interest in 20th century history.
The trainers of the workshop, Ludmila Coada and Sergiu Masteață presented the results of the study of manuals and didactic materials for teaching history of the 20th century.
The results of the study were based on several research methods: analysis of history manuals and didactic materials, focus groups and interviews.
In conclusion, the authors specified the strengths and the weaknesses of history manuals, but also suggested ways to improve the content of history manuals.
Larisa Noroc, in her presentation “Disinformation and propaganda – challenges of the contemporary period” highlighted the importance of critical thinking education and to combating propaganda and disinformation. In this context, she listed the techniques of disinformation, but also gave some guidelines for recognising the signs of fake news.
One of the propaganda topics associated with our country is the Propaganda of Transnistrian separatism, described in Lidia Prisac‘s presentation – “Propaganda of Transnistrian separatism through historiography.”
The teachers also participated in a practical workshop with creative activities, interesting discussions, and reasoned debates on the difficulties faced in the perception of the propaganda phenomenon in teaching and daily life.
