The goal of the project:  

  • The competition aims to encourage the pupils and the students to research historical events and personalities of the 20th century within the field of recent local history.  
  • Students will be focused in their topic on the history of the communities related to their biography – hometown, grandparents’ village, etc. 

Objectives: 

  1. The competition promotes critical thinking skills: analyzing and interpreting historical sources with discernment, evaluating propaganda messages, and recognizing manipulation. 
  2. School pupils and students will explore how propaganda has influenced historical realities and the current lives of people and communities. 
  3. Young researchers will develop a better understanding of human values including peace, cooperation, evolution, and others. 
  4. The competition aims to give the opportunity to engage in historical research using local, valued less sources.
