The goal of the project:
- The competition aims to encourage the pupils and the students to research historical events and personalities of the 20th century within the field of recent local history.
- Students will be focused in their topic on the history of the communities related to their biography – hometown, grandparents’ village, etc.
Objectives:
- The competition promotes critical thinking skills: analyzing and interpreting historical sources with discernment, evaluating propaganda messages, and recognizing manipulation.
- School pupils and students will explore how propaganda has influenced historical realities and the current lives of people and communities.
- Young researchers will develop a better understanding of human values including peace, cooperation, evolution, and others.
- The competition aims to give the opportunity to engage in historical research using local, valued less sources.
