Project Objectives

§  The contest will support history and civic education teachers in strengthening their professional competencies and teaching methodology regarding peace education and peace values. It will help them carefully select topics, case studies, examples, and approaches for use in history lessons.

§  The contest supports the development of participants’ critical thinking by encouraging the thoughtful analysis and interpretation of historical sources, the evaluation of peace and war topics in school textbooks, and the recognition of manipulative narratives.

§  The contest aims to provide young people with the opportunity to engage in responsible historical research, using underexplored local sources to uncover new perspectives.

§  Pupils and students will gain a deeper understanding of human values such as peace, cooperation, and tolerance, and their role in fostering harmonious community and societal development.
